Got the following notice from Her Majesty's Treasury…

Dear subscribers,

It has come to our attention that individuals may be the recipient of emails purporting to come from financialsanctions@hmtreasury.gsi.gov.uk and Treasury Ministers, asking for payment of certain taxes before funds can be released under financial sanctions licencing arrangements.

This is a scam. HM Treasury do not hold frozen funds and do not require payments to be made as part of our licencing process, and you should not respond to such emails.

Please refer to the following article https://www.gov.uk/government/news/fraud-and-scam-emails-or-letters-claiming-to-be-from-hm-treasury, which includes some guidance on how to report scam emails or scam related crimes to “Action Fraud”

If you have already received such an email and acted on it, you should report this to Action Fraud and cease any further correspondence with the senders of the email.
Regards,
Financial Sanctions
