From Her Majesty's Treasury:

Dear subscribers

Please be advised that during the Christmas period (23 December to 3 January), the Sanctions and Illicit Finance Team will be operating with reduced staffing, which will affect the time frame for responding to licence and authorisation applications. Priority will be given to cases where there is genuine urgency. Please note that complex and sensitive applications will take longer to process.

If you are likely to need a licence or authorisation request granted during this time, you can assist us to process your application efficiently by:

· Putting the application in as early as possible

· Using the application forms provided (https://www.gov.uk/sanctions-embargoes-and-restrictions)

· Clearly stating the legal grounds on which you are making the application

· Providing us with information on the deadline you are working to and why it is urgent

You can find out more about complying with financial sanctions by reading our frequently asked questions guide:https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/financial-sanctions-faqs
